Facilitator

Dan brings 20 years of high-tech product development and cross-cultural technology transfer experience to the new-energy market. His technical and cultural expertise is grounded by his graduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Davis, and his extensive international engineering and business experience — including more than 7 years working and researching in Japan. Dan currently consults for public and private sector organizations – including the U.S. Forest Service and several high-tech energy start-ups — developing programs, policies, and marketing materials that cut across traditional barriers of understanding and expertise. He created an introductory booklet on wood-based energy, Where Wood Works, which has recently been reprinted by the National Renewable Energy Lab. Dan has authored several colorful articles on renewable energy topics for magazines including Solar Today. Dan also served on the City of Fort Collins (Colorado) electric utility advisory board where he was instrumental in guiding its ground-breaking low-carbon energy policy.
